Over Forty People Injured and Sent to Hospital After Accident at Holiday World in Indiana

Over forty people were sent to the hospital after an accident at Holiday World in Indiana. Apparently, according to a Courier Journal article, a filter pump malfunction in a water ride at Southern Indiana's Holiday World caused fumes that sent 42 people to a hospital with breathing troubles.

Park president Will Koch said the pump sent highly concentrated levels of bleach and muriatic acid into the Bahari River waters at Splashin' Safari on Saturday.

24 people were taken to the hospital by ambulance and 18 arrived on their own. Two people were kept overnight for observation and have since been released.

Bahe Cook Cantley & Jones personal injury attorney Larry Jones says, "Unfortunately, this 'pump malfunction' injured numerous people who visited Holiday World that day. The Park's owners owe these people more of an explanation about why these poisons were dumped into the water where their kids were swimming and perhaps ingesting the water. Moreover, they need to explain the long term consequences of this exposure to these families."
