Louisville Courier Journal: Louisville Man Dies in Car Wreck

According to the Courier Journal, A Louisville man was killed in a two-vehicle accident over the weekend in Lincoln County, a Kentucky State Police report said.

Edward J. Sapp, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lincoln County Coroner about 10:50 p.m. Saturday night. Sapp was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes on U.S. 127 and collided with a Nissan Pathfinder driven by 33-year-old Dwayne Maddox, of Stanford, according to state police.

Another vehicle then struck the Pathfinder from behind. Maddox suffered head injuries, police said.

Kentucky State Police are investigating the accident, but alcohol is suspected to be involved. Sapp was not wearing his seat belt, police said.

Bahe Cook Cantley & Jones personal injury attorney, who is a mmber of the National Crime Victims Bar Association, Larry Jones, said "Alcohol related crashes are still far too common in our society. As someone who has represented numerous families who have lost loved ones to a drunken driver, I've seen this tragic outcome far too many times. While MADD has done much to remediate the problem, we have a long way to go."
