Frankfort, KY Car Accident Leads To Police Chase
There was a hit and run car wreck in Franklin County, Kentucky over the weekend, the Kentucky State Police are reporting. Police received a call of a hit and run car wreck. The vehicle was located exiting I-64 west at exit 53A. Police attempted to stop the car and the driver David B. Lahrmer, of Cincinnati, refused to stop and a short pursuit began.
The pursuit ended on US 127. The driver refused to comply with the trooper's commands and was tased and arrested. The driver was treated and released at the Franklin County Regional Hospital for alcohol intoxication and minor injuries. He was lodged in the Franklin County Regional Jail charged with, Fleeing 1st, DUI, Resisting Arrest, 2 counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st and 2 counts of Leaving the scene of a collision.
"According to government statistics, more than 17,000 people are killed in the United States in alcohol-related truck, motorcycle and car crashes each year," said Shawn Cantley, a Kentucky accident lawyer who has handled hundreds of auto accident injury cases. "Many, many more people are seriously injured each year by drunk drivers."
