Drunk Driver Indicted for Death in London, Kentucky
A drunk driving auto accident has resulted in a murder indictment against a London, Kentucky woman for a deadly wreck that resulted in the death of her cousin in April.
The three-vehicle crash was on W. Kentucky 192 near the London Country Club. Investigators say 23-year-old Miranda Knowles crossed the center line, sideswiped a minivan, and hit a blue car. Her cousin, 19-year-old Courtney Carter, who was a passenger in her car, died. A five-year-old was also injured.
Investigators say Knowles had drugs and alcohol in her system at the time of the crash.
Bahe Cook Cantley & Jones personal injury and wrongful death attorney Larry Jones says, "Drunken drivers should be held strictly accountable for their actions. Additionally, it adds insult to injury when the drunken driver carries little or no insurance to compensate the surviving family members. While some motorists carry uninsured or underinsured insurance coverage, the vast majority of Kentucky citizens do not carry it --or they carry too little."
