Cell Phones Cause Numerous Deadly Accidents in Kentucky Each Year
According to the Kentucky State Police Collision Database, 1,057 auto accidents have been caused in Kentucky during the last 365 days due to cell phone usage by the driver of the at-fault vehicle. 340 of those car wrecks resulted in injuries and 11 of the auto accidents resulted in death. 804 of the auto accidents resulted in property damage.
Bahe Cook Cantley & Jones personal injury and wrongful death accident attorney says, "This is a ridiculous number of auto accidents caused by cell phones. Eleven families are without one of their family members today because they were killed by a driver using a cell phone --just during the last year alone. Cell phone usage, as well as texting and emailing while driving, have reached epidemic proportions in the state of Kentucky and across the nation. We should all endeavor to use 'hands free' devices or put down the phones and pay attention to the road."
